I guess that's it, then. I dunno. It's working fine (well, as good as usual) on my Iphone, too. I just see one small ad above the posts and then one at the very bottom. Honestly, I thought those had been there for months. Very subtle difference on my end.

And if the Canadians were going to take over and keep the board running more smoothly, isn't that a good thing? Wouldn't that give both Chris AND Jose more time to do whatever they want instead of trying to keep the board running? I mean, was there profit coming to Jose or some kind of benefit or perks to being in charge of that site? I always just figured it was a big pain in the ass, and they did it because they felt like they should.

If Jose got screwed out of money or out of something else he was gaining from running the original board, then that sucks. If paying advertisers over there were suddenly expected to compete with other new ads without getting a discount or a chance to bail immediately, that sucks.

But, if that's not how it really went down, what is the big deal? Why should the rest of us give a shit? I kinda wish everything would just go back to normal over on the original site. The Canadians may be douchebags, but are they any worse than the rest of us, as far as being rude or talking shit? I bet they will shrink away into the shadows in no time.

Then again, if the people I enjoy posting with most come here to stay, I'll be here. If they go to another new site, I'll go there. At this point, the only site I feel any kind of loyalty to would be the old one.

For the most part it's the sale of the site that sparked the fire that started over there which pissed most people off, the thing with the ads were just fueling the fire further. Maybe I'm speaking for myself, maybe others agree with me but my biggest reason for not wanting to be apart of the new ownership is the fact that it was sold to a corporate company. Typically corporate companies have their own agenda which is evident and they won't care who they run off. You may ask me, what makes you say this... just look at the list of forums they own, it looks pretty evident they're about quantity and not quality. Besides the fact a number of us have been members over on some of those other forums they own and weren't happy with them. You take a close knit group of friends on a privately owned forum and sell them to a corporation and you're eventually going to run into problems. I think many people saw the change coming and backed out.

I just tried it and noticed the ad section at top got a little bigger. And it says clearly that if you register (or log in) you won't see as many ads. So again, what is the big deal? Why wouldn't you stay logged in?

I'm not trying to be argumentative, really. I just don't see what the big deal is with a little ad at the top of the page.
