  • 2 year old shoots self in head :(

not trolling, this is a PSA that if guns are your thing, do your best to keep them out of your childrens hands! i cant imagine how the EXTENDED family feels, let alone the parents. tragedy all around right here.

Agreed. Parent should face manslaughter charges when this happens.

Having a child die before you is bad enough, but being the root cause has to be unbearable. I can't even imagine...

I was trying to figure out how a 2 year old gets a hold of a loaded gun, let alone actually point it at it's own head and manipulate the trigger.

That's not a natural action (to point it at your own head), especially at 2 years old.

        I smell something fishy.

be it involuntary manslaughter or criminal negligence, or even child endangerment resulting in death, i do believe charges should be pressed here.

                C'mon, really?

Gun in both hands facing backwards, thumb(s) against the trigger.

As much as losing a child hurts bad enough, I agree that charges should be filed, and a maximum sentence handed out. Shit like this should never happen.

It's pretty much the first thing my kids did with play guns.

I'd blow my own head off if that happened to my kids. I know a lot of folks prefer to leave their guns unsecured with kiddos around. I do not, specifically because of this accident happening. I made them as accessible as possible, but nearly impossible for a kids to get at.

This is poor gun ownership in my opinion. Even if you're willing to leave them out in the open, you better be watching your kiddo and/or put the gun away tight while it's around.

It all depends on the gun, but really.

Its just not a natural action.

                          One of the comments...

many of us have never been responsible for the deaths of others...and not owning a gun increases the chances that we won't be.

It's generally the only way a 2 y/o is going to pull the trigger. It's more of a natural fit backwards. It's a toy to them, nothing technical and they don't even consider any specific way to hold it.
