I'd like NAV, bluetooth, manual, "convenient access," and the retractable hard-top, but none of those are "must haves." The manual-automatic tranny is actually pretty decent. I'd like to stick with white, but color doesn't matter as long as it isn't that grey. Their blue would rock, but they are hard to come by. I've already priced my dream car on their site, but I'm not willing to spend that much yet.

I'll be buying in the next 6 months or so, just waiting on the right deal. Hell, just for the excuse I'll make a long weekend of it, and fly in. Wh1telightning will be with me if you try anything funny...

I do realize that you're a Ford shop, but you've been with the board a good while, so I thought I'd throw it out there. TX prices are much more reasonable that the premium CA charges. I'd like to stay under $40k if possible. If one comes across your screen keep me in mind, if not that's a long drive that I hope to never do again.

Sorry for hijacking your thread Matt, but I don't think you really had a point anyway.
Just add another $1K and you can get it shipped to Ca. too probably.

I've been at it since 2001 on this site and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. It sounds like you shopped my number and they told you they were not interested in that kind of deal.....well I am interested in that deal!!! When are you coming out to see us?

And thanks for all of the positive feedback guys!!!!!!!!!
        arrogant prick.....

you cant touch their deals... and skip will figure out how to get you into exactly what you want for the right price.

I'm dead-serious about picking up an '07-'09 /M3 though, and come to dallas 4-5 times a year, for a good price I'd be willing to drive it home. Probably not, but is there any way we can deal on-line?

FWIW I'm "The Raven back in Canada," I've been around a while.
skip watch out for this guy I heard he has some un savory friends

I just bought a 2010 FX2 S-Crew from Five Star back in Sept. Granted it was the Carrollton location(worked there back in '04-'05 and knew everyone already). I'd definitely do business with Five Star again at either location based on being a former employer and DFWM member. They will take care of you, especially when they know their rep could be on the line.

Are you a member of USAA? I have used them several times to get the pre-approved loan so all I do then is go talk price with the dealer. Just curious since you mentioned credit score and financing.

You listened to all that horseshit, and it never once crossed your mind that your 'normal sales guy' might a- be jealous, b- is telling you that to keep from losing your loyalty or c- is hurting for cash?

It's your decision to make. Only you know what you want, and only you know what is acceptable.

But you'd be ignorant to not go up there and hear the guy out. Especially when there are thousands of dollars on the line. And especially given the distance from FTW to Ennis.

Sales is a competitive business. I wouldn't put it past 99.9% of sales guys to tell you exactly what your 'normal guy' told you. The car business has changed. It's hard to find exactly what you want these days. But Skip will come close as possible, with the best deal he can work. I know this for fact. You never know. He could get you in a truck more loaded up for less money than you were looking to spend. You can't blame him for asking you to come in. Tire kickers over the phone are a dime a dozen, and can't be given straight forward answers. It just doesn't work that way.
I went down to Ennis to see what kind of deal I could get. I was fully exepecting to get glad handed and get a price to go talk to Skip. I had already talked to Skip and gotten a ballpark price on a 2011.

When I got there I found a Silver 2010 4.6L that I would have taken, and they also had a 2011 Blue Pearl 5.0L that I really liked. We started with the 2011 and it stickered at just over $37k. It was an XLT with towing package, chrome package, Sirius, etc..... After the wheeling and dealing, and the rebates Ford was offering, I was offered a price in the $28k range. They had already offered me $4500 for my trade in, and research showed that Blue Book was in the $5100 range. I got them to come up to $5k on the trade in (I only owed $1400) and I told them that I would make the deal if they came down to $27k for the truck.

My offer was accepted so I ended up getting the truck for under $23k.

I sent Skip a message telling him about the deal and letting him know I would not be coming up to Grapevine. I also thanked him for his input. I in now way meant to offend Skip, and I know sales is a very competitive business, but I plan on taking care of him.

So, I ended up getting a 2011 Ford F150 XLT SuperCrew with the 5.0L in Blue Pearl. So far I really like the truck, next is a Bed Rug and tonneau cover.

You do realize that because of the tax credit of your trade in, if you got (for example) $4900 for your truck means that you saved $306.25 on the total taxes on your new truck. So in other words you got $5206.25 for your trade in.

Sounds like a nice truck. Congrats.

I'm just like you. I have bought most of my vehicles from one dealership which is five star ford in Carrollton. Between myself, my dad, and my bro we have probably bought around 12 vehicles since 97 or so. They have always given us the best deal and I felt comfortable buying from them. I have tried skip before which he is a great guy to deal with but I always got a better deal from five star. Congrats on your new truck. Post some pics of it.

All I have is a cell phone pick after I got it home.

It's been nasty, so she's dirty now, so this is the only pic I have:
