When I was looking any JJ for NYC, I think 450-500k was needed. There is no JJ in NYC, which is why I was curious.

Does anyone know if Sweet Tomatoes / Souplantation is a franchise? There is nothing like that in Allen/Frisco area.

Not really trying to swing loans, would like to pay for everything in cash. Hell, I'm not against the idea of going for bigger things, but I'm not going to go into business with anyone that cant put up the same amount of cash that I will.
Your McD's number is off. In addition to start up, you have to have $1,000,000 free and clear in the bank.

Subway is way over saturated. My issues with franchises are the constant money off the top that Corporate gets, and the crap food. Sure, you have built in marketing, but you have to buy their... Everything.

In reality, what do you have to spend? I see you want to stay between $100-150,000. Do you have money outside of that? You need to plan on being able to foot the bills for a year. Rent, payroll, food, utilities, etc. This is where restaurants, bars, and QSR's fail. They spend everything buying the franchise, and have nothing left for operating capital. You have to go in to it with the mindset that you're not going to make a dime for the first year. You might make something 3-6 months in, but you can't count on that.

              95% of bars fail.

                    I'd say that's a solid racket.

Especially if they aren't country bars up here.

The largest and longest running bar up here does indeed have a mechanical bull.

You should open up a Double Deuce.

Correct. Bars are a lot more tricky.

The bar I ran and helped re-establish in commerce was the original Drunken Mule. The old owners tried to turn calhouns into a drunken mule. Last I heard they got run out of Texas. They were some sheisty old men.
