I do not own a franchise, but I'd be more than happy to discuss the business with you when you get back.
Can I ask why you want a franchise specifically?
he probably wants one since the name is already well known so you instantly have a customer base without hesitation. you get their backing and rules. takes the guess work out of opening a random "ma's sandwhich shop"

^^Basically what he said. I helped a friend with his restaurant here in Hawaii, and after permits, renovations, hiring, initial stock orders, menu planning, etc, I saw he had almost no time for marketing by himself. I really want to buy into a national marketing campaign with a company that already has product recognition and brand identity.
I'd still say a witch which. It's like a subway but butt tons better and there isn't a ton of them around. I have to drive to rockwall for the nearest one, and you can bet every time Im over that way I buy some witch which.
A friend of mine owns 3 Chick Fil A's in mesquite. I heard that they actually only cost $5000 to start, with a majority of the profit going to Chick Fil A. Look into it if you want, I'm pretty sure that is correct. I would say it may depend on what part of town you look into. I'm around a large college campus right now so some types of food do really well here (Pizza/Burgers/Ice Cream).

If I were going to open a sandwich shop, it wouldn't be a Subway. JMO. Let me know when you get back, and we can go talk over a drink or two.

But, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.

10k for fee then they pick and choose no guarantee you get in.
Never own the store just lease it from corporate.
still make at least 300k easily per location though..
Chick fil a had 119,000 applications this year and we are only opening 120 stores. Initial investment is only 5k and from what numerous operators have told me base salary is 40kish per year and 10% of sales. Most stores are around 3 mil a year with some at 5-6 mil per year stores. Most operators come from within the store with years at chick fil a.
You'll never see franchises as long as Dan Cathy is alive.
I've delivered chick fil a for 4 years now and I've never seen one shut down... Most remodel for a larger store b/c of rapid growth

That doesn't sound like a bad deal. If you can get in.
