Highest temperatue I've ever had was 103.8 and can vividly remember it even though I was like 8 years old. I could barely walk straight and would have some fucked up dreams.
YOU AREN'T HELPING ME!! That's what hers was earlier today.

Leah, I see you keep mentioning Tylenol, but not Motrin. What people are telling you is that you can swap these one, then the other. A cool cloth on the forehead helps too. I would imagine cool liquids too.

I know what they mean-I just haven't had any motrin in the house and tylenol is bringing it down. Thanks for the explanation, though. I guess I'll go get some tomorrow-I just figured that if she was responding to the tylenol, then it was ok to just use that.

Leah I feel ya! Apparently there are a lot of kids sick right now. Hadley's daycare had a flue outbreak and some stomach virus at the same time. They sent home 15 kids yesterday. Hadley was up all night with a horrible cough and congestion. I'm praying it does not get any worse than that. I hate seeing my child sick. Poor thing has been through pure hell being sick all the time.
My doctor told me that it's not the number it's how they are acting. Hadley has had a 104 temp and acted just fine. I think it changes when they get older though.
It's heartbreaking to see your child hurting...hang in there girl.
The highest my boy has had was 104.3...he had the flu at about 18 months...with the shot. It sucked. He ended up extremely dehydrated even with us pouring the pedialyte down him. It is very scary to see your son with two huge IV bags being pumped into his foot (the only place they could get a vein, tried hands and arms). When your child's skin stands up on it's own after pinching it up, you tend to reallly start freaking.

It fucking sucks! I hate seeing her like this. She's so tired and pitiful looking.
She is still running about a 100 degree temp, but it's better than 103.8! She is exhausted from lack of sleep and super cranky so today is going to be AWESOME!
Thanks for asking, though.

Ok, guys. Thanks. I just wish there was something else I could do. It has come down with Tylenol since I started the first post and was 101.7 the last time we took it-about 20 minutes ago...
I just HATE to see her so lethargic and pitiful.
Oh, and Kenny-I hope everything is ok with your daughter. That is terrible!
You really need to switch back and forth between Ibprophen and Tylenol to help keep the fever down. My son would hit 103-104 at times. Scared the living shit out of me. Good luck, I know it sucks, but sometimes you have to ride it out. Poor kid.
Our pediatricians have always said don't even bring them in if it's just a temp and no other symptom's unless it is 104 or higher, or if the fever doesn't break at all for more than 2 straight days. I have been there with both my girls and it sucks not being able to do anything and seeing them hurting. They also recommending alternating between a tylenol and motrin type fever reducer/pain reliever, which has seemed to work a little better than just one or the other the whole time.
