Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

I flip out when people dont have stuff locked out properly at work.

I almost lost an arm/hand one time for not disabling a truck when i was replacing belts. I worked at a truck stop and the office was so slow that I learned to start working on the truck soon as they pulled in instead of waiting 2 hours for the work order to be written. This guy pulled his truck in and said it needed belts. Open the hood and 2 of 3 belts are missing. I told him I would start replacing them and for him to go inside and start the paperwork. I went and got all the tools I needed and the belts. I had the hub unbolted and I was feeding the new belts over the hub pulley. I had one arm stuck through the fan blade and my other arm resting on the alternator pulley. I heard the truck door open and something told me to pull my arms away. Soon as my hands were clear the truck driver started his truck. For some reason he thought you had to start it to check mileage. Soon as he started the engine I threw a wrench at his windshield and shattered it. Then proceeded to yell profanity at him and I just went nuts. I pushed him out of the cab and took his keys and launched them into the parking lot. I was contemplating beating him with my prybar when a few other people came over to calm me down. The driver felt like shit and started tearing up while apologizing to me. He apologized for the next hour and I ended up finishing the job. After that I make damn sure Im the only person that can start or energize any piece of equipment I work on.

                you got that right.

I dont understand how you forget lockout tagout.
I had to go to the fucking Houston Area Safety Council once a year for 2 days and watch all these damned videos on lockout tagout procedures for each plant and dock.

i dont think its a matter of forgetting lockout tagout procedure as it is more of lazy/ "wont happen to me" mindset.

So did you miss the 7 deaths at the Modelo plant?

Someone screwed up big time on that one. Either they are using toxic chemicals to clean the tanks or someone turned on the boiler.
