iirc, an article I read a couple of weeks ago said that the medical side brought in 1.2 billion in sales last year.

And I'm sure that's just a tiny fraction of what it would be if it was legal w/o a script. Just think of all the tax paying jobs it would create plus the tax collected from sales. And all the "criminals" that our tax dollars pay to keep in jail for weed related bullshit. It only makes sense to legalize it and I don't see how it's any worse than alcohol. They should legalize it and create legislation that promotes growing and distributing this stuff within our own borders.

I wonder if they legalized it they would release the people in jail/prison.

It will get to where it is legalized at the national level. Many of the old or soon-to-be old folks, who do tend to get out and vote, have used it in the past themselves and are likely in favor of legalization.

                    I should hope so.

According to recent polls, 52% of Americans are in favor of decriminalization at the least.

That said, I don't expect to see anything change federally until that number is closer to 65%. If even then. Until they can find a way to give a DUI for being under the influence of pot, it won't be legal.

I want it legalized just to crush the cartel's main cash cow. Sure they still can move heroin and cocaine, but Pot would probably end the violence overnight as we would start buying/growing our own US made stuff.

Im guessing they would have to write something in specificly that would pardon/dismiss people that commitied violations in the old laws. They did break the law, so F'em.

I think politicans are scared the cartels would ramp up violence because their cash flo would be cut off?

Is weed worse for the body, than alcohol? I don't think anyone could say that it is.

Nope, not unless you retroactively did it for every criminal in the country.
