I'm not positive what kind of program he's using to download, but the best I've gotten through Miro is 1.3mbps and that was on a file with 1000's of seeders and very few leachers. Usually it's fluctuating from 300kbps to 0bps because the signal is so inconsistent."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

A couple of buddies have it in the North Dallas area, and it sucks. Isn't it equivilant to cell phone or 3g service? It was terrible for any online gaming. I ran a speedtest last time I was there and compared it to my fios.
Mbps. v ^ ping
Clear: 0.99 0.73 79ms
Fios: 11.30 12.50 28ms
Not a fair comparrison, but im definately getting what I pay for. If all I did was surf, no videos, movies, gaming, I'm sure it would work.

I had CLEAR for a month and HATED it.. it was slow.. VERY slow. 4mbps at best and supposedly I had 2 main towers near me. Half the time it wouldnt work at all. Time Warner is better.. MUCH MUCH better. I pay 29.99 for TW and its not even a comparison. 38mbps and ALWAYS works.Facebook- Twist of Vape

Decided to give it a try...
Well....I took a risk and signed up for month to month service. So far I'm not impressed. I have GREAT signal (5 bars lit). However, the upload and download speeds suck.
I think the max I have seen for download speed is 2 Mbps (they advertise 6 Mbps with bursts up to 10 Mbps). Upload speeds are really slow with 0.1 Mbps being the fastest I've personally seen.
I'd say there was a little false advertising going on with CLEAR.
The good thing is that I've got a 14 day cancellation option (no questions asked) on the equipment (modem) and service.
TWC raised my internet fees to $55 per month. At $35 a month for clear that's a $20 savings per month or a $240 savings per year. I'll just have to figure out if I can live with the slower speeds.Last edited by Hicompression; 01-19-2011, 11:33 AM.

Didn't read the fine print...

Well, they didn't want me to cancel so they decided to give me unlimited download speed (6 Mbps down with bursts up to 10 Mbps) and 1 Mbps up. And...they knocked my monthly charge down to $30 to match what TWC was offering me for not cancelling my service with them.
I'll report back when I get home and re-check the service with the new speed settings...
