This is one of the reasons I uses a burner phone when selling something on Craigslist. I can't turn my personnel cell off but I sure as hell can turn the burner off. Really cuts down on the bullshit late night calls. Plus, I can toss the phone if there is some issue with the buyer.

Why would you sell something and have to change your number afterwards? That sounds shady as fuck.

I have had people that call me for 6 months after I sold something with annoying questions. Especially bad when I sell a bike. If they know I used to work at a shop or know I tinker with them I will get calls for weeks/months. "I think I need new tires, what do you recommend" kind of shit.

Hell, the guy I sold one of my jeeps to over a year ago called me the other day to ask how to replace the serpentine belt.

I just find that behavior annoying as fuck. Just because I sold it to you doesn't mean I am obligated to help you diagnose problems and walk you through the fix.

Had that shit happen, super irritating. I screen my calls so much that I rarely get calls anymore.

Only problem with me is I get a lot of call from people that I haven't saved in my phone yet or haven't talked to before. Kind of a pitfall when looking for work/networking.

You'd be suprised, they can't read worth a fuck. I didn't add a phone number and didn't get any calls on my stuff, I added a number and stuff sold.

This is what I use as well. You can also set google voice to only ring during certain hours and easy to block any folks that piss ya off.

I'm so done with craigslist...Guy tonight said he wants the motor and will pay $650.. But wants it brought to him in Burleson. Ok, I;m going to Pate swap meet, I can do that. Tell him to just come pay for it, I will pull it and drop it off. He says, man thats too far to drive, just bring it to me and I will pay you when you get here...Then he acted like I was nuts when I said I want cash in hand before I yank it out.
I'm done trying to sell shit on there.

Exactly.. Even then I usually answer questions and stuff via email. I typically only give them my number when a meeting has been arranged.
