Did you check into the combined BS/MD at UTSW? I work for Children's and am associated (read: paid/funded) by UTSW as Children's is the Pediatric teaching hospital for UT. Just something to consider.
If you can't do the combined at UTSW then I vote Baylor...can't even believe I just typed that...based on the fact that they have a Med school and give preference to Baylor Grads.
SMU...even on a full ride, I don't see that being a "good" option for what you are looking to pursue. No med school ties at all. If you were going MBA or JD I would say SMU all day long based on the scholarship offers.
Only freshmen out of High School can apply for that program. I am a Junior 10 years out of High School.

this ^ baylor is probably your best bet on this. Ut does have amazing professional ties like was mentioned so really either of those two, but id lean towards baylor
Tech is not in the running? I have several friends who went to Baylor or UT for undergrad, then to Tech, then on to UTSW. Similar acedemic profiles.
Out of the ones you listed I'd lean towards UT or SMU.
I have a few connections at Tech that I am saving in case I have issues later with medical school. They offered a full ride for my undergrad, but they do not have my major, and I would have to move to Lubbock. I am fine with moving, but only to study my topic of choice. Kind of a one or the other type deal. I would hate to sacrifice everything just to save a little cash
When it comes to your education and degree, pick your best choice, not whats cheapest.
would you rather have a doc from bfe university or a big shot doc from say ut or baylor?

Should still choose UT.

I want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Well med school will be a couple more years away, so I am not sure if the names means anything to anyone except for me or not. I am quite undecided, heh.
Lolz, you're doing it wrong. Let it get to page 2 or 3, then come back in a few days with something like, "Gosh, sorry everybody, been so busy servicing everyone's insurance policies that I totally forgot about this thread. Please let me know if you have any input on a college for me, I have about 9 options I'm exploring".
Oh, and I put in for UT. \nn/

Well, I would say SMU (while excellent school) would be out. UT Dallas would be out as well for me. Having a degree in Neuroscience would open more doors than settling for other degrees at other schools.
Also, just because you want to go to UTSW doesnt mean you will. That being said, Im not sure having a school affiliation is going to be that big of a deal. Also with that being said, doesnt necessarily matter where you graduate from (med school) as long as you do well there. I work with some excellent physicians (D.O.). UNT has a DO program. While being a MD might mean more to you, it doesnt mean crap at a hospital or at your own practice. We have both doing the exact same specialties whether it is orthopedic surgery or internal medicine.

UTSW is the goal; however, I will go to whatever school takes me if they do not. I will not waste time reapplying to schools just for the name. I want to get to work, not spend my time waiting to go to school.

Good attitude to have in my opinion.
UTSW is a great school. Sister got her PHD there and dad is on the wall
