I think both are good trucks. But I'd go with the F150.

I've put 85K on my '11 Silverado in 2 years and haven't had one issue with it, and being that its a work truck i beat the shit out of it. It also goes on lease roads/offroad a lot. That 5.3 flexfuel motor is awesome too, i get almost 600 miles out of a tank since it has the cylinder deactivation. Yeah the interior isn't as nice, but I don't really care since its a work truck. If I get to purchase my own truck someday it will be a Chevy, but a diesel and a 3/4 ton instead.

Do a search about the hubs and steering column on the 03-05. This is a very common problem with that body style. The OP asked for opinions and I gave him my experience with certain year models. If you think newer chevys are awesome then good for you. Personnally I will not buy another new vehicle again, and am hesitant to buy a used one for more than $15k.

Bottom line is the OP asked for opinions and will then make his own decision. He can buy a truck that is made in China and pay $100k for it if he wants for all I care.

I found a 2013 F150 with 5K miles at a local dealer here where I live in South Texas. It's white in color, regular cab, short bed, pretty clean & has the 5.0 engine. It's a STX model but there asking $22,900.

              $22,900... Ouch

With all the incentives and rebates, I got my 2013 FX2 extended cab with 5.0 for $26K...

a coworker got a new f150 quad cab last year. the interior space is ridiculous.
another coworker had a quad cab dodge from the year before. it was frankly pathetic compared to the f150. he traded it in and got an f150 too.

havent sat in a new silverado/gmc so i wouldnt know.

I really like all the space that the F150 has considering it's a regular cab. I'm 6'4" & was still comfortable when I sat inside it. But... I like the looks of a Silverado.

I am a chevy guy and with that said, I would buy the Ford. You will be paying the same price for outdated technology (engine wise) and lower hp ratings with the Chevy. Might as well upgrade for the same price. Plus ford has the win on interiors

What would be a reasonable price to offer for the 2013 F150 RCSB if the asking price is $22,900? The sales guy said that right now trucks are not selling due to gas prices & for me to make a offer.

My local dealer, who I buy all my cars/trucks from, has like 20 new 2013 RCSB STX's decently equipped with sync and such, all stickered at $29,710. There are like $6k-$8k in rebates/incentives right now so you could get a new one for $21,710-$23,710.

I wouldn't offer/pay more than $18-$19k for a used one when I can get a brand new one for a few $K more, and typically get a better rate on new vs used...
