CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A police officer was shot at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Thursday night.
According to MIT's official Twitter account, gunshots were reported near building 32 on the school's campus around 10:48 p.m.
Mass. State Police say the victim was a campus police officer. They were transported to Mass. General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police responded to the scene and have the area cordoned off.
MIT is asking students to stay clear of the area and say the situation is considered dangerous.
The search for a suspect or suspects is ongoing.
An investigation is underway.
