this used to be a place where you could come, find local car guys, hag out meet up, party on the weekends, meet at the track, and have a great time. I dont know what happened but it seems that a few select individuals have "taken over", so to speak. I wont name any names but if you feel you are a keeper of the site then I may be talking to you.
now for me, I posted a thread, with an honest question mind you. The thread was derailed by the 5th or 6th post. I gave a few retorts for the fuck of it. Then i asked numerous times for the thread to be locked. I made tags for the thread to be locked. One of the moderators even replied to my one of my initial requests to lock the thread with "no way am i letting this comedic gold go to waste" [sic]. After being fed up with my content intended thread getting trashed i got fed up and made an attempt to get it locked. Funny turn of events the same moderator who denied my requests then banned me, and left the thread open for another 36 hours.
I have no problem with being banned, hell, after 13 years i always wondered how far one had to delve in order to get themselves banned. I guess now i know. What i do have a problem with is the 6 or 7 people who parade around the site praising each other and otherwise adding no content to keep the site interesting.
The Back Porch used to be the place to come for news/entertainment/updates. The smackatorium used to be used for what goes on in every thread that pops up now. Maybe its the way they forums are laid out but the smack gets no attention. Its what internet forums are really all about, maybe move it up above the armory and sports forums to keep TBP clean?
Switching subjects; I have stated before i really have no disregards towards anyone on this website. I have been here since I was 16 years old, most of you are like big brothers to me. I dont even have a problem with the constant battery. I really feel like i grew up with Silverback and Juiced89lx, those two conditioned me quite well for shit like this. I dont have anything to hide, and I am not hard to find. It is easy to find out anything positive or negative I have done. Posting mugshots is just one of those things, i guess you say, you make your bed you lay in it. I get it, that shit was 10 years ago however, I am a father, an adult, a husband now. Some things i would just like to move past.
Now I am still not sure why i was actually banned. The message i got was "take a breather, stop trolling the wrong thread. show some respect." or something to that effect. No biggie, no i never 'contacted the admin', i kinda laughed it off and got on the ipad, logged out and read the board as normal.
now for some personal shout outs.
if you werent mentioned, dont worry, i have an opinion on you one way or another, hopefully for the better, CRASH, Danny, Denny, JOHN, theres lookin at yall.
im sure i'll be banned again before too long but i just wanted to air some real feelings, this is like my home website, and it just sucks to know it changed hands went to some fort worth boys and now they wanna make it a 6 person car club. if anything call smash mix and make it an email list again!
