I'm with Don on this one. I don't dislike 1911's or XD's... They are good range guns and reliable, but I wouldn't carry one.

I follow the KISS method when carrying.

Carry in small of my back so it's accessible with either hand.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

When I watched the story on the news, they showed a shot of a revolver lying on the ground, I figured he might have had his left hand in front of the cylinder when he pulled the trigger at some time. Looking back, I guess the revolver could have been from the dead guy.

But good points, if people aren't aware of the limitations of the firearms and there capabilities to deal with certain unique situations, shit can happen.
        Use your pants.

        Seriously.

Hook the rear sights on to your belt or dig in to your thigh and rack.

I carry my PF9 in the same spot in a waistband holster with 9 147gr.+p Winchester PDX1's...one in the pipe and 8 in the mag...ready to go. Feisty little gun with those heavy +P rounds in it...but I feel confident in stopping whatever I may need it to stop.
