I'd be looking for old airports, old dragstrips, and old junkyards. Never know what you might find.

I used to dig around the island here on Texoma at the end of summer lake season. You'd be amazed at how far down a metal detector can pic up a can's pull tab. I never found anything of value sadly?

Biggest thing I found was someones picnic they decided to bury I guess. I hit over a pretty decent sized area and started digging down, got about a foot down and jabbed a full sunkist can. There was at least a 6 pack, a package of hotdogs, buns, etc wrapped in a towel and buried.
