  • Man killed by... beaver.

I don't know how some of these people get jobs as journalists, but the headline and story are true. I'd be kind of upset if that was how I met my demise.

A beaver kills a man in Belarus when he tried to take a photo of it. On April 11, MSN Now reported that a man wanted to get a photo of the "cute" little guy while he was on a fishing trip. The beaver got very defensive, however, and attacked the man. While some people think that smaller animals can't hurt them, these creatures are still wild and they will attack.

"It pounced on the man when he approached and bit him in the thigh. The bite severed a main artery and the man bled to death," reported MSN Now.

When a beaver kills a man it makes headline news because it isn't something that people hear every day. Beavers are very strong animals and have very strong teeth. No one should get too close to a wild animal, regardless of the size or the "cuteness." Animals act on their own agendas and a frightened animal will react in whatever way it can to make it feel dominant in any given situation.

Beaver attacks aren't something that happens on a regular basis. Generally, the animals stay to themselves. In this case, however, the man took a chance and likely never thought he would be attacked, never mind killed.

The beaver kills a man comes on the same day that a story about a Komoto dragon attack surfaced online. This is a good reminder that people need to be mindful of animals and their territories.

Most have it cornered pretty good for it to become aggressive. I usually don't bother them unless the are in a stock tank and in that case they get popped or a leg trap gets set.
