We used to use a HD Wrecker service in CA all the time, for Repos and such. I even sold them a couple of trucks. Those dudes make some money. Those wrecker bodies cost bank though.. Like $80k when I was in the business. Then another $80k for the cab and chassis.

Dude in Bryan that we had to use told us he made $200k the year before, and he was working for someone else, didnt own the truck, etc.

I saw in the video where it appeared the tire might have a split down the middle. You can kinda see what I'm talking about here.

Also, this tire appears to have blown but I wouldn't expect that to cause it to lose control.

It really is amazing how far the prying eyes of dfwm reach.

That company I used to use had a bunch of contracts for sections of freeways around the inland empire (southern CA around San Bernardino) as well, and all of those tows were cash pickup only. One day I was in the owners office and a driver came in to get some cash for something, the owner opened his safe and had stacks and stacks of bundled cash.. Crazy. I sold him a $60k truck one day and he wrote me a check on the spot like it was nothing. He had like 25 regular tow trucks / flatbeds / wreckers and 10 Heavy Duty Wreckers.

Generally they cost more for roll overs. But 3k is on the decent side.

I bet that rear tire blew when they hit the center divider thing, that's probably what tipped it over too. Still wonder what caused him to lose it. One of the "survivors" on the news last night said they her a loud pop, maybe something in the steering busted. I know the freeway has several big dips right there.

Anyone else see news coverage last night? They seemed to be hell bent on bashing the driver and the bus company. He'd been a driver for like 30 years but they made sure to mention an accident he had in 2001 where he struck and killed a good samaritan trying to help at an accident scene.

They also seemed very disappointed that the bus company didn't have any significant violations in the last two years, and mentioned that "they would keep digging".

if there isnt a scandal gong on, they'll try to make one up.

KMPH Fox 26 is the Central Valley's news leader, covering Fresno, California and the surrounding area, including Clovis, Madera, Hanford, Visalia, Biola, Kerman, Tranquillity, San Joaquin, Reedley, Coalinga, Avenal, Lemoore, Tulare, Selma, Caruthers, Tollhouse, Three Rivers, Porterville, and Merced.

                                There's a good one.
"Driver in bus wreck also drove in '98 fatal crash"

Oh no. He shouldn't have been driving. The news needs to chill the fuck out, what is important here is that they should be in our prayers - loosing a bus could destroy their business. The news doesn't seem concerned at ALL with the bus, I haven't seen a single report where they have given any concern to the extent of damages to the bus.
