  • RIP Sal Cucci

Sal was one of the owners of the Italian Villa off Little road in SW Arlington. He went on to open La Gondola in Mansfield after closing the Villa. As a teenager I worked at the Villa and had the privilege of spending time in the kitchen working with Sal and the crew. Anthony, Sals son, has been a friend since 7th grade. I'm saddened by the loss of a father and amazing chef.

Oh wow, that place was a staple. Did you know the Weaver girls? Kendal, and a couple others.

        I was there in 92 - 93, but they don't ring a bell.

This would've been 95-98ish. Kendal might have had a different last name, don't remember. She was a bartender/waitress/whatever up there for a couple years.

That sucks. My mom always wanted to go to the Villa for her birthday. The Sicilian pizza was incredible. I was major disappoint when they closed. Yet, Mac's still thrives and I have no clue why.
