    I'd check with the DMV if you are worried about ownership or anything. If you give them a good reason, they'll give you a lot of info on vehicles.
    I got a lot of information out of our local DMV regarding a car just by using its plates. Small towns can be nice sometimes when it comes to government crap.

      yeah thanks man, I went online to the texas dmv website and ran the vin thru there system and it showed no lien holders so we are good there.

      btw that autocheck website is a very handy tool....
