Kitok's is west of 35 on 18th and makes a pretty good burger, along with an interesting thing called oriental fries.

D's Mediterranean is 5ish minutes west of the highway as well and is surprisingly good Mediterranean food.

Clay Pot is fusiony americanized Vietnamese food. Not amazing, but the people are friendly and some items are pretty good.

George's is probably the most agreeable option around.

This. BBQ isn't great, Gut Pak is.

I'll have to check them out when I'm down next week. I love Mediterranean food. I'd eat it every day of the week if I could. I'm actually trying to learn more about cooking it, because it's delicious!

drive a little further to Temple and hit up Best Quality Meat Market right off the highway.

Their version of the gut pack was 10 times better than Vitek's

Lmao, I've been commuting through Waco for 6 months and have been too leery of trying anything other than Rudy's (i am moving into my new house today, though). The restaurant next to Rudy's is always busy, too.

I have to agree. I'd have mentioned it, but couldn't remember the name of the place.

Basically a Frito pie with chopped brisket and sausage of your choice. Beans, cheese, onions, jalapenos, etc.

Give it a shot. I'm a big fan of Mediterranean food. Not sure how D's stacks up in the grand scheme of things, but it was certainly way above what I expected out of Waco's Mediterranean scene.

I usually skip out on their burgers and go to Dubl-R for burgers, it's on Herring and 18th street behind the gas station. Health camp is where it's at for shakes/malts though. God DAYUM.

Used to be a Mexican restaurant over in Hewitt that was in an old dairy queen building that is really good, used to stop there on my way to LRS to pick parts up.
