Need a new tv

TV took a shit tonight. Looking for something in the 50" range. Any good deals out there, or potentially any sales coming up that would be worth waiting for? Do they still have in home tv repair companies? I did a quick Google search, but only places I found with reviews were from 2011.

We have a 51 inch samsung plasma with 720 p from best buy for 550. It may even b cheaper now. The pic is crystal clear and great for sports because of the high refresh rate. They also had a 1080 for about 150 more. It's a no frills model, but couldn't be happier. With hd you can't even tell a difference between 1080 and 720.
