I guess to each their own..... Nissan/Infiniti customers seem to be super picky about shit....
I know from almost 10 years experience, hell what one customer loved about the car the other one hated.... but I have seen both sides.
next time YOU are in the market for one you should honestly go in with a clear mind and check one out.
and no I don't work for either Nissan or Infiniti anymore so im not just trying to sell you something, just stating an opinion.

If she is leaning towards the Equinox, why not just go ahead and get a full on minivan... To me the Equinox is as close as you can get to a MV without it actually being labled a MV...
