New SUV, thoughts?

My wife drives a 2010 Escalade, I wanna trade it in and get a new SUV. I don't know what to buy. Some of the smaller SUVs are much more roomier as far as the rear seats go then this truck. I any stand when the kids stick there knees in the back of the seat.

What's some of your wives drive with kids? I've got 3, all from 12 to 3.

I just want something that looks as good, but does better then 12 mpg. The new body is coming out soon so I wanna unload it before it plummets in value.

Are you looking for alot better gas mileage? or just slightly better? That will kind of dictate the size of the SUV. My little 5.3 hoe gets about 15-16mpg with stop-n-go traffic. A lot of the smaller FWD "SUV"s will get 20+, but most are ugly as hell, lol.

An SUV not big enough for 3 kids, I know that... You definitely need a 3rd row.

MIL just bought a Ford Flex and it has tons of room, drives nice, and gets low-mid 20's on Highway and mid-high teens city.

The Expedition/Navigator is supposed to be getting the EcoBoost V6 at the end of this year.

Go look at the actual 3rd row dimensions on the Escalade and compare that to the other vehicles out there. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Escalade coming out as bigger than most of them.

Yea, we haven't found anything with more 3rd row room than the yukon xl/suburban.... Lexus lx and the Benz GL were cramped back there....
