FBI agents and investigators searched the house of a former
Kaufman County justice of the peace Friday afternoon as part of a continuing
investigation into the murder of the DA and his wife.
Eric Williams is a former Kaufman Co. JP who was tried by
both prosecutor Mark Hasse and Mike McLelland and convicted of theft charges in
2012. He had to give up his JP seat due to the conviction.
Williams has been previously questioned by authorities, but has not been named a suspect in the McLelland case.
The search warrant is being executed by the FBI, Kaufman
County Sheriff's deputies and the Texas Rangers.
McLelland and his wife were shot and killed nearly two weeks
ago in their Kaufman Co. home.
