I bought 2 really nice suits at Jos A Bank for just under $500 a few months back...they were running some kind of deal, half off if you bought 2. They've always got some kind of deal going.

They did all of the tailor work as well....I had a great experience with them, would go back for sure.

Beat me too it. JoS A Bank 100%!!

Signature Gold is probably the best fit, and on sale right now but on sale is $647

Signature suits are close and can be had for under $500

You can do a LOT better than that by getting suits at nordtrom rack. A hickey freeman for 500 > jAB signature for 500

Nordstrom Rack or Joseph A Bank. I just picked up two suits a couple months ago from Jos A Bank, and the quality seems higher than what you will find at Men's Wearhouse or K&G. At least, in my experience.

Also, check the Jos A Bank website. They have different sales than the stores, but the stores will prove match their website if you ask them to.

                Nordstrom Rack FTW

                Both are very over priced

OP, go to nordstrom rack and get a 8-900 suit for 350. You can probably snag a nice Hickey Freeman suit for 500 or less if you look around and those retail for around 1800. The one in plano has good merch. Stay away from the places above. The initial price is good, but they dont last for shit with any regular wear and most are fused together in the chest which will bubble up after a few trips to the cleaners. Try to get something thats 100% wool. Breathes ALOT better than the poly blend cheap suits and is actually cooler.
                Thanks.
What other good brands should I keep an eye out for at Nordstrom rack?

Hell I'm in Ops Mgt but going with sales to a prospective client, i might just up the budget to a dime.

Id definitely hit nordstrom rack over any of the other suggestions. If you can afford it id get a Hickey Freeman for 5-600. It will seriously last decades with proper care and the styling is pretty classic so it wont look dated.

IF you were looking closer to 800 id say get a Zegna or Canali suit

For closer to 300 id get Joseph Abboud or Hart Schaffner & Marx

The JAB suits are very boxy and the construction is the same as the 100 dollar suits from JC Penny. The signature suits are marginally better, and the signature gold ones are equivalent to the 300 dollar hart schaffner marx or joseph abboud suits from nordstrom rack.

If you really care and want it to last make sure the jacket constuction is "canvassed" or at least "1/2 canvassed" rather than "fused". Fused jackets (like all of JAB suits) dont stand up well to dry cleaning chemicals and start to basically delaminate over time and bubble.

Im sure people will call me a fag for going into such detail, but i favor higher priced goods with decades of longevity rather than something that will last 2/3 years for 1/2 the price.

Dress shoes are the same way.....Ill pay 400 for a pair of dress shoes that will last 10+ years than 100 for some that ill have to replace in a year or 2. If you need good dress shoes look at allen edmonds. theyre a great shoe for the money an they have a full retail store at willow bend so you can get properly sized.

I love that store. Bought a Brioni suit (like 6 grand msrp) for 400 at the last call here. the last 2 inchs of the pants legs were shredded which was ok because im a 30 inch inseam and the tear was from like 36-38 inches. Most any suit will need to be altered to fit correctly. the odds of an off the rack suit fitting properly is pretty slim.

Last one I got was from Express, little over 400. Slim fit has the tailored look. Looks baller.
