    Valley Ranch is overrated....

Downtown LC is nice. 7 mins from DFW, 14 or so from Love Field. If I didn't have a house, that's where I would be. I'm basically right across 114 from there now as it is.

I lived downtown Dallas for 4+ years. If I was going to live anywhere in an apartment it would be back in a loft downtown.....

I lived at Grand Venetian right behind The Ranch for 3 years. It was never horrible, and while there is much more stuff over there than there was 3 years ago, I like the area at Grapevine/Euless/Colleyville right there at 121/Glade area, or even off of 26 and Texan Trail.

            That's not downtown LC.

I know. I think if they follow through with plans to really build up that area around Lake Carolyn, and put in some new restaurants and bars, it could be a great place to live.

Thanks, Brent. I drove through that area right after Christmas, it did seem nice

Don't rule out N.Dallas. GWB makes the airport commute fairly easy and quick.

The last few times I've been to the mall in Frisco I've been surprised by just how ghetto it's become - those people don't live here, they just drive to shop apparently.

                            Highly doubtful.

Agreed. Now the only mall we really go to is the Galleria.

When I think of downtown Las Colinas, I think of 114/O'Connor area, near the horses. The lofts and shops over there off the canal are pretty badass. Not cheap, though!

You can't get any closer to the airport than Grapevine (North entry). They are buidling some brand new lofts at Texan and 26, which happens to be the same parking lot where my office is. They are small and pricey, but really nice. They'll be ready for move-in next month. Grapevine Station is the name of them. There are also some apaprtments at the corner of Dallas and Main that are above some of the shops and right in the middle of everything. You don't have to deal with the construction at all just to get to the airport; only when you go East or West on 114, and it is literally getting better every day. It's not far from being complete, and it will be great then.

360/Trinity/Centreport area is growing fast, but a lot of those apartments are nice, tiny and cheap, which seems to attract a lot of ghetto-fabulous types. Then again, I guess you will have some of that anywhere. There is a complex at 183 and 360, which is a fantastic location (literally right at the South entrance of the airport), but I don't know much about them. I don't think they are too pricey, which means more riff-raff.
