I do enjoy the hypocrites on FB that are for gay marriage but want to stomp on my 2A rights. Quoting Yoda - Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Yes, I am not afraid of you being a ...mo and you shouldn't be afraid of my black gun.Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Read this article, but ignore the Christian and Bible references. It's the clearest argument against gay marriage I've read.
Voddie Baucham tells us that there is no legal, logical, moral, biblical, or historical reason to support same-sex ‘marriage.’

There IS no argument against gay marriage, just as there is no argument against 2 consenting adults doing whatever the fuck they want to do as long as it isn't harmful to someone else. "Quick, someone is doing something I don't like! Make a law disallowing it immediately!" I don't see why people can't mind their own goddamned business and stop worrying about how other people live their lives. Especially when I typically note the disrepair the offended parties life is usually in.

I was talking about this with a friend telling him I thought they wouldn't have any reason to uphold DOMA or Pro 8 and he mentioned something interesting: Sexual preference is not a protected "class" like age, race, and gender. Given that, what legal justification does SCOTUS have to overturn DOMA? Can they make it a protected class with their ruling, or would it have to be done by new law?
(Now maybe it should be a protected class, I'm just talking about current law though.)
Edit: I'm also curious how this might affect marriage to multiple people? Is there any reason we could allow Gay marriage but not polygamy?Last edited by slow06; 03-27-2013, 02:06 PM."A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."
