Got the title to the Jap truck, have a question?

What if he keeps the truck for a couple of years and somehow loses the signed title? Then he has to go through the trouble of going back to the previous lienholder for their sign-off again. It's well worth it to just get that done now. Then if he happens to lose the title he can just go get a copy.

I wouldn't go so far as to say in the US, but in Texas they aren't afaik.

I give that disclaimer because when we were in Lake Havasu City, AZ a couple of weeks ago we saw a number of Rhino's tagged and on the road, and even a normal quad.. Plates and all. Apparently they will let just about anything get a plate as long as it has lights, turn signals, mirrors and can go 35mph.

you are correct, many states will let them be tagged as slow moving/off highway vehicles. Texas does not, though OK/LA do.

You can tag your ATV in arizona and drive it in Texas legally.

Here's the steps to becoming a Registered Texan:

1.Have your vehicle inspected. Simply take your vehicle to a certified Texas Department of Public Safety inspection station. (Many mechanic shops, oil change locations and service stations are certified by DPS as inspection stations.) Bring your insurance card.

In Texas, you must show you have insurance coverage for a minimum of $30,000 per injured person, up to a total of $60,000 for everyone injured in an accident, and $25,000 for property damage.



2.Next, it's time to get your vehicle registration sticker and license plates. To do this, you must visit your local county tax-assessor collector office. You will need that insurance card, the inspection papers, and proof you own the vehicle, such as the registration or title from your previous state. You can also show a current foreign/military ownership document or foreign evidence of ownership.
