It's a state law/city ordinance issue. The landlord can't do squat.
Maybe not, but shittier provisions have been put in leases, and people get retarded about imaginary slights.

There was a time when men would do what men did - without asking for permission or worrying about nanny state laws.

We all should just speak in British accents.

          It's a duplex, you really think there's a HOA?

That wasn't my point, I was pointing out that there are other potential ramifications beyond what the law states.

Most cities dont allow you to park a vehicle in one spot on the street for more than 24-48hrs either. Being a trailer and not hooked up to something would also be easy to tell it hasnt moved in a while.

Also, if your parking on the left side of their drive they could claim you are obscuring the view of oncoming traffic (assuming they have a drive/the street has decent traffic).

                  This.

Even in a subdivision with a strong HOA the HOA does not own the streets, only the common property. The streets belong to the city. There are exceptions for gated communities where the streets generally are owned & maintained by the HOA.

If they park the trailer in their yard or driveway they may violate the HOA covenants and be subject to whatever penatly is applicable. In the street, the HOA cannot do squat about it.

All of that said, be a good neighbor and don't make them look at your junk!

Get to know your neighbors, and be the go to guy when their car won't start or stuff like that. That will buy you a lot more rope when you are doing something annoying like breaking in a cam with open headers or pulling an engine in the driveway or parking something on the street in front of your neighbor's house.

I am still amazed at some of the stuff I was able to get away with at my old house (like loading the LOUD race car on the trailer at 7am on Sunday morning for the cruise) but no one ever complained about what i was doing.

I've had it good at my house, no bitchy neighbors and such, I fixed a lot of their cars, and lent a lot of them tools. But over the last year or so Most of the old neighbors moved and now I have to make nice with all new people to earn the same leeway I had before. But I'm tired of playing nice, so I'll probably just be quiet from now on or move.
