True. There are more people with firearms there, but it would also say that it would be easier to move on to a softer target. Remember, criminals are lazy in general... Looking for an easy path to getting what they want. Even Texas has plenty of easy targets.

No better time than now. They are moving super fast on all applications, and there seems to be a ton of instructors right now. I think Craig and Leah have a voucher that you could buy off them (if I recall it was rather cheap for a class, only reason I passed on it for my wife was I scored a $45 class with everything included except for ammo and fingerprints.)and I would be more than glad to lend a gun if you don't have a semi-auto.

When I do a CL deal, I normally bring a gun and a friend with a gun (in case they get the jump on me). I’ve only had one deal that actually made me nervous, most times it goes well. Hell I’ve even made a few friends out of it.
Though one time I for sure gave another guy a good crazy cl deal story, or should I say my wife did!
We met a guy at his work to buy an intake, I had my little XP1 9mm on me, and my wife was in my old yellow Fairmont with my ruger p95. Half way through the deal I noticed the guy got real nervous and was in a hurry to finish and part ways. What I didn’t realize until after was that her being used to her Lincoln with deep tinted windows and black leather, she just had the gun sitting in the seat next to her! The guy (young yuppie looking kid) while getting the part out of his car saw the gun and got spooked.
We got out of that town as quick as we could and she got a lesson on concealment. I felt bad for scaring him, and felt lucky we didn’t get the damn cops called on us.

My wife is now really good at concealment. And I still prefer her to have my back than anyone else. She’s great under pressure, and is a better shot than most of my friends.

Paul happened to be in the same class that I took. That post reminded me to look at mine, it expires in 12/14.

Will it be your first or second renewal? I assume second because I think Elvis got his around the same time I did if not a bit earlier.

Mine wsa held up twice, for the same reason. One hold up was because the instructor didnt have a packet number or something, and it turned into a couple of months, meanwhile they changed to an electronic something or other, so the state instructed me to send it in and they would process it under the new system, and then sent it back because it was registered under the old system... blablablah. Ended up being several months before I got processed correctly.
