i just remember it used to be strictly AOL and chat rooms, then geocities came up, then AOL blew up more and we started getting porn! then chat rooms took off, and the bulleting boards. did i skip a step when people started wearing their hearts on their sleeves and getting their dicks turned inside out and stuffed with a mouse? i understand those who have a past they want to keep behind them, but what about those that just get "up in arms for no good reason. have you been here long? i assume people new to the internets are from the western counties; same way i couldnt get internet on the arkansas/missouri border last weekened!??

thats about right.. 3 years prior AOL used to send out "trial" discs that were maybe 30-45 minutes of online time. you spent 15 minutes getting on, 10 minutes talking to anyone and everyone else who had a disc, then 10 minutes getting booted off. i am 31 so you guys are right on with the 17 year theory. sad ain't it?!

Yeah, 27 here, got the internet when 56K was finally getting to be mainstream, not the pay for x number of minutes of the early AOL days. I remember Yahoo was still small and Juno email was the shit.
