So let's double it, or even triple it. It's still a very small number of cars in this state, let alone the whole country. McLennan county (waco and surrounding areas) has over 50,000 registered vehicles. How many turbo mustangs do you think the average shop sees?

Sorry, I must have been confused...

This is what your asking the inspectors to risk. http://www.dallasnews.com/news/crime/headlines/20130319-six-vehicle-emissions-inspectors-sentenced-for-falsifying-test-results-at-arlington-shops.ece

I haven't changed my point, the number of turbo cars is a moot point in the context of the conversation. lol

You asked when Mustangs started coming with turbos. I answered.

No but the vehicle type will match. It will flag it but when they look and see that the vehicle type is the same they will ignore it unless they start seeing it happen alot from the same station. They they will investigate closer.

what if the pcm is not from the same "vehicle type", i.e. a chevy express van pcm in a camaro or something like that.

That's a good question. You might get a visit from the DPS.

Ive never had them even pop the hood on my 03 ( that that there is anything to look for, and the truck didnt have cats from the factory) or look under it for that matter.

Now that you mention it, I used to see those all the damn time on various on-ramps to 183 in Irving, but never see them anymore.. From 2000 to 2006 or 7 all the time, since then I don't think I've seen one.

I think you may be confusing profit with revenue. Two very different things.

Just do what I used to with the Mustang. I just always had Leah get the inspection done. It didn't have cats for like 4-5 years and they never questioned her once, nor did she have to ask or pay a kickback. Have your woman take it in and smile purty. Preferably with a low-cut top.
