Not sure if anyone has heard this yet but Texas will soon require a valid inspection before you can purchasing your registration sticker.

Oklahoma IS smart, they realized it was all horseshit and did away with vehicle inspections years ago.

This has always been the case with cars bought out of state. They do have a current inspection database like a DMV record but it is not integrated into anything yet. Plus you can always do a title only transfer if you are building something.
