Originally posted by Tyrone Biggums View PostI never knew they went to an orange gun. I got my NES the first year they came out and was lucky as hell to get it. The only games I had for it was Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and Tetris. Everything else got rented from Major Video. Mainly TMNT, Ninja Gaiden, and Contra.

Contra and Super Mario Brothers were by far my favorite.
I was a skater back then, so of course I loved 720 and Skate or Die!.. A few others I remember having / liking / renting a lot:- California Games
- Double Dragon
- Excitebike (Loved making the custom tracks!)
- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
- Joust
- Major League Baseball
- Mega Man
- Mike Tyson's Punch-Out
- Paperboy
- R.C. Pro-Am
- Wrecking Crew (Mario Bros spin off)
I never had Super NES, and the next gaming system I bought was Nintendo 64 then PS1, but I had friends with a few of the in-betweens (Super NES, Sega Genesis, etc).
We do have a Super NES now (Leah had it) but I never play it. May need to hook it up soon.

The only video games I have spent significant time playing were Super Mario Bros and R/C Pro Am. I beat Level 99 in RCPA and got pissed when it didn't go to 100 - it just started 99 again, lmao. That was kind of a big deal back when you couldn't save your game. When the government pays, the government controls.

This was my family's first actual video game system, if you can call it that:
Tele-Pong - Only played on a 13" B&W TV in the garage. lol
Then in about 1980 our grandparents bought us an Atari 2600 6 switch version (The Sears Branded one though):
That wood grain was P-I-M-P!

Of all of them on NES my friends and I probably spent the most hours playing Super Mario Bros. We would do variations and compete. Mainly based on who could beat it in the fastest timed with a stop watch. We would flip between allowing warp and not. Or we do high score, or low score, which was harder than it seems (who could beat the game with the lowest score). My best friend had a Polaroid camera, so we often took pictures of the screen as proof to brag to other friends. lol. Like many, I had the game memorized and could play through the whole game in my head, visualizing every level and what needed to be done.. It was ridiculous. Haha.Last edited by Chili; 03-20-2013, 10:16 AM.
