  • Carnival gets you there, and never back!

Carnival Cruise Lines is making arrangements for passengers aboard the stranded ship Dream to fly home.

The cruise line made the announcement Thursday morning.

The ship encountered a technical issue with its backup emergency diesel generator during a scheduled port of call Wednesday in St. Maarten. There were brief interruptions to the elevators and toilets Wednesday night.

The company says engineers are working on the problem, but they are making arrangements to fly passengers home. They did not indicate when the flights would leave St. Maarten. The ship, with a capacity of 3,646 passengers, is docked at Phillipsburg.

The Dream's March 16 voyage from Port Canaveral has been canceled.

An engine fire crippled the Carnival Triumph in February, leaving 4,200 stranded for five days without working toilets or power.

I think it should be well noted now to not take a Carnival cruise.

This would be the only way you could talk me into a Carnival Cruise ship. Of course I would take chemlights, flash light and spare batteries, get a balcony room, stock up on water, bring portable toilet and a few other essentials for their ship.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

The one I was on was alright. Seems to me they need to worry a little else about profit margin and a little more about sound maintenance.

So they are friends with a corporation? That's pretty cool. The CEO is Gerry Cahill but he's definitely not the owner.

My wife and I were on the Magic two months ago, it was awesome. I love going on cruises. Whatever floats your boat.

I've been on two carnival and one royal. The royal was better/nicer. That said I'll never go on another unless it is a seabourn.

One thing I noticed about our last carnival cruise that stood out was the high level of pure white trash on board. I'm white trash at heart, but these people were down right trashy. I guess that is the downside to taking a cheap cruise.

I'll be on the Magic in a month and a half for my honey moon. I'm not too concerned. I'll have a balcony so if we get stranded and the toilets get fucked, I'll do my business off of it. Gotta roll with the punches and make the most of it. No power? Looks like I'll be raiding the alcohol. Should be interesting

Royal Caribbean is a good standard, but can't compare to Seabourn (price point). I did a Seabourn cruise two years and it's worth every penny. I still want to try a couple of the others like Regent etc, but will still use RC for the usual stuff.

And, Apogee > * (except the owner is a fucking loon)
