I am a DME Coordinator (Iron Guy) for Halliburton. I dont make choo choo money but I do OK. I did make more in the field as a frac hand but I like being home every night now. I would suggest frac to anyone without experiance or an education. We have several 3+ year hands knocking down $100k+

I'm a tool pusher for a major drilling company, I'm salaried at 6 figures a year, plus company truck and gas card... I've done pretty good for myself at 25 being where I'm at... Next stop company man... Then retire by 45 hopefully. Just for the record the oilfield is long hours and great money. I've done 4 days straight no sleep due to getting stuck, pulling casing apart then having to run fishing tools down hole to go retrieve what we left behind. But in the end I love my job and my 7 and 7 schedule

I started in the fields in the Barnett as a Service Tech for a wellhead company and it was hard work, but now I work in field sales and I love it. I keep riding the ladder up. It's all about busting your ass and making contacts. There's definitely no other industry like it, and I couldn't do anything else. If you stay in it long the opportunities are endless and you can travel all over the world if you want.

That's some hard work and ambition to be where you are at 25. Major props. Most 25 year olds are still leeching from their parents, with absolutely no direction, and a job they aren't using their degree at (if they even have a degree). Seriously, respect.

I work in the oil/gas field as a compressor mechanic. I make $26/hr and work about 50 hrs a week on average. Schedule is ok. I take weekend call out every 4th week and one week day night. The boss is cool so if I get called out at 3am he lets me choose if I want to come in the next day or not. The only thing that I hate about it is that I never know what time Ill be getting off in the afternoon because something can always shut down for a big reason and Ill be out for 18 hours. That and working in the heat sucks. Id rather have a job that makes more money for less work.

There is a lot of money in the Bakken, but yeah its cold. I know a hand that lost a toe to frostbite last month.
