So I had to go a little different and it seemed like it went from 15K-18K to 40-60K in some of these boats. Anyway, they (Cabelas) had one nice shallow hulled aluminium boat I liked and then the one I'm probably going to get. I'm waiting a few days to let it stew to make sure and for me to validate everything via research.

Anyway, pretty common boat - Lowe FM 165 60hp, may upgrade to 75 and has 5 seats.

    Basically this, 2012 in black..

Also figure simpler is better for first boat. Am a little bummed to get the 6 person capacity it has to be such a deep hull. Still excited though.

are you dead set on new? If not I can put you in contact with some people that can help?

    BTW nice boat

I am certainly not dead set, but any used boats I'm not getting any feedback via email. My criteria is that I'd rather it be less than 5 or so years old though since I'm paranoid and not familiar enough with a boat. In other words, I'm looking for turn key since I don't know squat. That boat would be 3 years before I'd have to start doing things on my own.

I know I know, for some reason I love tubing much more. But rest assured I will let ya know when I hurt myself trying to do a flip or something

On a side note anyone got any 6.5 inch speakers they no longer want? I am wanting to add to the boat?

Ceyko, i have a buddy selling a boat. I'll PM you the details when I get them. Him and his wife just had a newborn so he's putting his efforts other places.

If they can keep it, suggest he does. That's (one reason) why we're buying a boat now that the kids are 3, they like fishing and boats. haha I told the wife I needed a boat to go fishing, my boy ran to the bath tub and got one of his for me.

Yesterday at Cabela's he was excited about the "big boat" and he understood now why his boat would not work. Kids are awesome at this age.

edit: Otherwise, I'm willing to check it out. I am moving kind of quick though.

Every damn day I get asked if we can go to the Lake, Sunday they all wanted to go I kindly told them they were NUTS. I don't mind 70' and 80's just to go cruise but 60's I am out.

Oh this big kid will love it, cold beer, tubes, friends I will be good to go haha

I am assuming that the black you are talking about is the accent color on the side correct? Direct Texas sun + black = HOT

Not that I've ever seen an all black boat, it just brings back some not so fond memories of the black leather seats in my Mustang literally frying the back of my legs a time or two.

Not what I would choose for a family runabout, but I don't care for fishing either. The smaller boat will certainly be easier to trailer and learn the ways of the water with. My only concern for the kiddos is how easy/difficult it will be to get back into after swimming, tubing, etc.

I was not happy about it either, we were choosing white - but they only have that in the 2013 model (no more 2012s to sell) which is 500 more. The only diff being color choices and some upgrade in the trolling motor.

My thought process was with a black exterior - generally the water should keep it cooler? The interior would be the same anyway you cut it, but we are doing a bimini cover to try and help when over heated a little

I was looking, it seems like they sell some ladders you just hang over the side for people to climb in/out of the boat with too - not terribly expensive.

let us know how that works out for haha, black is going to hot as hell, the bimini helps a ton though. I would suggest, getting the boat you want on the water, or like we talked about Multiple boats. Kinda like a gun find one that fits you best

Black gets hot as fawk!!! The interior of my boat has a lot of black accents and they are damn near untouchable with out throwing some water on them first. Good thing I didn't get that all black SAN I originally ordered. Lol

Black is fine, just not on the inside.
