My Hero3 is probably somewhere in the bottom of the Atlantic by now. The wrist strap came off while my son was in the ocean in Florida last July.

I wanted the Hero3 Black Edition, but I'm already overbudget taking the boys.

the hd hero2 and hero3 SILVEr are comparable but the the black edition has:
high fps version of 720p (120) and 1080p (60)
as well as higher res: 1440, 2.7k and 4k modes.

I'm not a tech guy, so I'm not sure how to compare what is similar on both cameras.
