he told me it runs a little rich, and it smokes for a minute when it is first started up, but then goes away. probably wouldnt hurt to have it looked at.

I have an old CB350 that I picked up and was going to turn into a cafe, then decided to go bobber, then decided to keep stock, now I have decided I want to buy either a sporster or streetbob. I am probably going to end up just selling it now.

What kind of condition is it in as it sits?

It needs to have the tank flushed and new tires put on. May also need a tune, but does run.

Do you scrape your pipe a lot on right turns? I had a V&H Indy pipe on my '08 and dragged the shit out of it on turns. And on the pipe I had, the bolt that holds the baffle in was on the side that got dragged, so it got worn down and one day the damn baffle just blew out of the exhaust lol. Got really fuckin loud!

Nope they have changed it up over the years. From pics I have seen mine looks like its sitting higher than alot of other peoples and the bolt for the baffle is on the inside now. I haven't drug it once.

Sorry if your going to spend that much money on a Motorcycle and a VROD is even in consideration, then i highly recommend you look at a Ducati Diavel. Million times better than a Vrod in EVERY WAY...

HEre is mine for reference.... Pic taken at Valley of fire

                    And as it stands Now...

as for the original pics posted.. i like the second one... :-)

Complete opinion. I was interested in the diavels when I was shopping around and all I read about on the ducati forums was first year issues. I sat on one and wasn't impressed. Its classified by many as a power cruiser, hence it competes with the vrods, yet it has rear sets. I wanted forward controls for comfort.

Also, like comfort, reliability isn't something I have ever associated with ducati. Show me a ducati with 100k on the clock and no kind of major engine repair. There are many vrods that have gone 100k with at most, valve shim adjustments. The revolution engines are bulletproof.

Like I said, I like the diavel, it just didn't fit what I wanted. It beats the vrod in some places but I wouldn't ever say "million times better"

Your right, it is my opinion... Though i don't know of any issues your talking about with the Diavel. I haven't had any...
It is a power cruiser, no forward controls, but well over half of the diavel forum owners on any diavel forum, used to be Vrod owners... Don't take my word for it, get their feedback.

As for reliability... the engine in the Diavel is too new to tell on reliability but i do know of owners with over 35k miles so far and have had no issues... Vrod's, sorry but from the 2 owners i know in Vegas with them, they have had serious issues. One of them required an engine replacement. We'll get back to the discussion of reliability in a few more years when the new Testastretta 11˚motor has been in service as long as a Vrod Engine..As with any product, there are always those with issues and those Without issues

Either way, not picking a fight, you love your bike..rightfully so, as i also like them also, but i love my bike more..... ;-)

                        IMO...still a million times better

Funny that you mention that! I've been waiting to build a bobber for a while and I'm looking for the right Magna. I almost bought one a few weeks ago, but IMO it was too nice to do what I wanted. I know that sounds dumb, but when I told the old man what I was going to do with it his whole expression changed.

I like the way they look and the fact that they are v4 makes it a little unique. I included some pics of one that I found that is exactly how I had it envisioned in my head.

The ducati is not even in the true cruiser category... Nothing like the rod, warrior, hammer, meanstreak that are all similar and actually comparable. I don't doubt many rod owners have gone duc, both are badass bikes imo
