he told me it runs a little rich, and it smokes for a minute when it is first started up, but then goes away. probably wouldnt hurt to have it looked at.

Sorry if your going to spend that much money on a Motorcycle and a VROD is even in consideration, then i highly recommend you look at a Ducati Diavel. Million times better than a Vrod in EVERY WAY...
HEre is mine for reference.... Pic taken at Valley of fire
And as it stands Now...
as for the original pics posted.. i like the second one... :-)

Also, like comfort, reliability isn't something I have ever associated with ducati. Show me a ducati with 100k on the clock and no kind of major engine repair. There are many vrods that have gone 100k with at most, valve shim adjustments. The revolution engines are bulletproof.
Like I said, I like the diavel, it just didn't fit what I wanted. It beats the vrod in some places but I wouldn't ever say "million times better"

It is a power cruiser, no forward controls, but well over half of the diavel forum owners on any diavel forum, used to be Vrod owners... Don't take my word for it, get their feedback.
As for reliability... the engine in the Diavel is too new to tell on reliability but i do know of owners with over 35k miles so far and have had no issues... Vrod's, sorry but from the 2 owners i know in Vegas with them, they have had serious issues. One of them required an engine replacement. We'll get back to the discussion of reliability in a few more years when the new Testastretta 11˚motor has been in service as long as a Vrod Engine..As with any product, there are always those with issues and those Without issues
Either way, not picking a fight, you love your bike..rightfully so, as i also like them also, but i love my bike more..... ;-)
IMO...still a million times better

I like the way they look and the fact that they are v4 makes it a little unique. I included some pics of one that I found that is exactly how I had it envisioned in my head.Attached FilesOwner of Titan Towing
