I had business in Central Arlington and drove past the workforce commission place on Mitchell and thought, "Does anyone actually get a job through the leads there?". When I was unemployed in 09 I made several swings through but I don't think it resulted in any solid leads or even one interview.

This lead me to wonder with the dfwm ballers, how do you find gainful employment? You just look, online and elsewhere, you are so incredibly awesome at you current employ other employers search you out?

Just how is it you attained baller status in the workplace?

Started as a temp 10 years ago in my current job due to being laid off from my job at TI...
Busted my ass and got hired on as an employee, then busted my as some more to move up the ladder and its paid off so far. When fails to pay off, I will be asking the same question of how to get a different job without starting over at the bottom...

I've been both recruited from career builder, indeed, and linked in...as well as applying to jobs online.

My current job was from an online app. They also had recruiters contact me for a few other positions.

Post up a resume on job sites an you'll be sought out if your skill set is in demand.

I've been at the current place 8 years, so I haven't actively looked. I have had recruiters seek me out for 3 positions in the last 18 months though. One came from a guy I've worked with in the past, and the other two were from LinkedIn. A former employer also called me up for an interview.

Best way is to know someone. Tried using TWC well over a decade ago and it was a waste of time.

Networking. I got my interview with IBM thru my college, everything since has been word of mouth.

Its all in who you know most of the time. I've kept an open account on the TWC site for about 10 years now just to keep an eye on what comes up that matches with me though. Actually going to the twc location never resulted in jack shit.
