Got orders today for Ft. Carson. Pretty excited to not be going to Riley like most of the other guys since I`ve live in Kansas and do not want to go back anytime soon.. For the ones who've been stationed there or are currently there, let me know what it's like. Thanks

It's in the shadow of Cheyenne mt. Spent two years there and miss it daily. I was deployed for both winters, but the summers are fantastic. Leaving the back gate you can be on a mountain road in about 5 minutes. Absoluelty beautiful.
Pikes peak is also about a 13 minute drive. The hillclimb is coming up!DE OPPRESSO LIBER

Just got back from Colorado Springs. That is my home town.
It is a great area, weather is pretty decent and there is a ton of stuff to do. The life is much more focused on being outdoors than TX is, so seasons don't really slow people down up there.

I really dig CA as well, despite their policies.

I THINK a license was required to conceal, and maybe NOTHING was required to open carry, but that was 2010.
Also, like Sean said, it's so outdoor friendly. People encourage outdoor activities. In Texas it's hard to find a place to 4-wheel, but in Colorado there are so many off road trails/hiking trails/you name it.DE OPPRESSO LIBER
