This doesn't pass the smell test. In fact it sounds shady as fuck.
This happens all the time. A buddy sold a Busa, guy never transferred the title. He got a letter from some impound in Louisiana. Buyer had been areested for something or another. He went and picked it up for under a grand. Nothing was wrong with the bike at all. Sold it a second time, for more than he got for it the first time. Granted, I bet that part is less common... I'd think most times they are trashed.

            ^lol
We are going to go check it out with caution. I just told the company I would like to look at it, that was it. The $2000 is the charge for the $15 per day storage fee, the car is actually free. Apparently it's been there since october...I guess the unregistered owner doesn't want it anymore. It's pretty close by, so we are gonna go check it out, then resell it. He already profited well off of it, maybe he can cash out again. It was a very clean car when he sold it.

yes, we will file for a reprint title. I'm just hoping Mike and the Boys didn't get into it, or the motor isn't blown, etc.

This happened to a friend of mine along time ago as well. He sold a '69 Camaro and the new owner never titled it, several years later my buddy was contacted saying the car was sitting in a lot after being abandoned. Went to look at it and got it back for <$500. If you have the bill of sale from the previous sale, take it with you just in case it turns out that law enforcement is looking for the owner due to some kind of crime, then you can at least prove that you didn't it own at the time. Better safe than sorry, IMO.

This is the scariest part for me. That bill of sale is long gone now....
