  • thanks skip, jesse, purdy g-vine ford...

bought a 2011 f150 lariat supercrew yesterday. it has way more shit on it than i wanted, and god knows more than i needed, but its mine now!!! 5.0, touch screen nav., sync, a/c and heated seats, sunroof, 20's, "man step" lolz!

now if you are wondering if you should go see skip, lemme tell you a little story.....

i drive quite a bit, usually to houston 1-2 a month. i turned in my 08 early so i wouldnt be over the lease miles. i also like to keep new shit, so i get a new truck evry 2-3 yrs. so i was going to buy this 2011 outright because i didnt know my options. well long story short, skip basically turned down my $15k down payment and $6??/month payment, and found me a lease that i could put more miles on. my payment is only $30/ a month higher than was my 08. thats an honest man. i will be a customer as long as this gent is in the business. thanks grapevine ford.

EDIT: yall know im too dumb to know how to post pics!

    god bless.

Nice whip man, congrats! I'm sure that the new truck will jumpstart a busted old Ranger even better.

Hell yeah Paul . I am jealous as shit. So, how do you like the power of that 5.0? Is there a day an night difference compared to your old truck?

Barry, there's no reason for you to be jealous. You could go buy one ya know.

Hey Paul, does it have a doll rack in the rear so you can display your dolls?

Just curious, if you know you drive more than allowed on a lease why do you lease? You can buy the car, make payments for 2-3 yrs then sell it for hopefully more than you owe instead of just handing over the keys back to the dealership. Or at the very least trade it in and get the dealer to pay off the rest of the loan.

I love looking at some of the pictures that people post of where they live. Not to be judgmental or anything, but what the fuck is up with people that have no problem dumping $30-40k+ into a car when they are living in a house worth slightly less than double? <insert Dave Ramsey tirade> Hopefully I'm not the only one

Yeah, I could. My self control won't let me. I have to pay off my current vehicle so I can get my son something to drive in several years. This is the longest I have owned a vehicle in about 17-18 years.

I know the feeling. I think in Canada - you posted up about being debt free about a year or two ago. Same here. The new 5.0 Stang is testing my ability to stay debt free. If I already had a $xxx car payment, simply switching to the car I desire for that same payment would be easy, but not having had a payment for a couple years now - I just can't ever see going back to that again. It's effing tempting as hell though. Being older and wiser and having self control sucks sometimes.

Oh, I am not debt free, just credit card debt free. I have 2 years a 5 months left on the note on the Jap truck. That $484.00/ month is grinding on me now days. But you are right, it is a test of the will power. I really like those trucks now days.
