To add fuel to the fire sale, my aunt offered me a brand new pool table today, to take the cars place if I get rid of it.

Pool tables are awesome! I use mine as a shelf for car parts!

Find a stocker, throw it in and drive it. I bet you will keep it if you do.

man, it looks like all you need is a short block to be able to drive it. I have gotten to the point where I realize I will NEVER be totally happy with my car. My wife asked me when I got it last year when I'd be done fixing it and I told her "never". But I also want to drive the M EFFER and I'm sadly not made of money so I trying to get it 100% reliable first. Then I'll move on to other upgrades, etc. I know it will be slow (car and the progress) but I have a lot more time than money and that car is my time machine back to teen age dreams!

I have a bike that is fast enough to send me to jail for double the speed limit of any highway in 2nd gear, so slow doesn't bother me at this point. I figure I can get the rest of what it NEEDS in the next 30 days, and have it registered/inspected and drivable before 04/15. That's my goal anyways. I do understand the whole motivation thing... it seems like every time I turn around this thing has some other nit-picky bulsh going wrong that I for some reason feel I MUST fix before I can call it a day. My 17 year old self would be pissed with present day me.

Get your ass on Craigslist.com and find a shortblock to throw in there and drive it while you save up to make it what you really want it to be.

But if you've lost your passion for it all together, just sell the damn thing and cut your losses. But... if you drop a $300 short block in there and get it running, it will be worth around $2k more.

Those deep dish 03' Cobras look sick. Just keep it. Put a normal 302 in it so you can drive and enjoy it. Then build a sick ass engine for it.

so if it no burdon and not in the way, why get rid of it and later down the road you want a project. example only lets say you dont have the money to buy a project, if you keep the car you wont have to buy one later on.

I have no idea, I have a lot of parts with 50 miles or less on them. The car supposedly only has 47k miles but I have never run a carfax. It has no carpet or backseat currently, no hood, no ac/heat or anything (ducting etc), and my uncle lost the ignition key while it was at his place, but I have $9000 in it somehow.

4.10s, Holley systemax, crane cam, racing seats, pro 5.0 shifter, nx kit, 5lug, wheels, eibach pro kit, KYB shocks/struts, E7s with a fresh valve job last month, smoked headlights and tail lights.... The list just goes on and on.

Basically what I would need to drive it again is my block back from the machine shop, gaskets, bearings, crank turned, and maybe new rods. Then find a hood and order some carpet I guess.
