I just fixed some things in the quote in your thread.

When we go to PCB florida, we stay at the Edgewater Resort on business 98 and we do St. Andrews a few times during the week, so peaceful and some of the clearest water I have been in. Its only like 5 bux to ride the pontoon boat over and it is going and coming all day. Nice and quiet, no car noise, boats are not allowed near the beach and the tourist boats doing dolphin sightseeing are kept several hundred yards form the shore by the state park police. Like i said its seven miles long so you can get you a peice of real estate away from everyone and have you solitude.

Hands down.......http://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/ in Pensacola. Be sure to stick a dollar on the wall while you're there. Also, I highly recommend getting a hair cut at http://www.yelp.com/biz/kristis-barber-shop-pensacola on your way to or from the aviation museum.

Red Lobster is nation wide, you should find plenty along the way! Don't forget, Lobsterfest is going on too.

Avery Island isn't too far from New Orleans, if you care about history and or hot sauce at all. Tabasco sauce has been helping GIs stomach field rations for well over 100 years.

So I bail out of DFW last week with the intention of breaking in the '13 and doing some serious relaxing before I start carving out some new directions with my life. Drop by Longview for some fine dinner and drinks with Jen and Robert, then hit the Louisiana border for the first time in a few years.

Get to the hotel which is wedged between The French Quarter and The Arts District. Apparently not everyone knows how to handle a stick. LOL

Cruise around the next morning and look at some stuff. Hotel is right next door to Layafette Square. A couple of days later they are having a huge concert that I stumble into.

Head over to the National World War 2 Museum. One of the most incredible and well laid out museums I have ever visited.

                    Lots of general badassery:

I want this damn knife so bad.

This hallway made it feel like you were coming off one of the transports onto the beach at Normandy. Awesome idea.

They also had a fragment of the World Trade Center.

The next building was where the REALLY cool shit was.

                      lol

Then it was time for Bourbon Street.

Started bar hopping until I found a badass band doing most 70s covers.

The next morning while walking down the street that turns into Bourbon in search of breakfast, I see there has been a partial building collapse between 2 in the morning when I walked back to the hotel, and waking up. Crazy as shit.

                          nomnomnom

Different resturant just off Bourbon, but I ate here several times and it was fantastic.

Walked down to Jackson Square and scored Primary Colors at a used bookstore, then found some Beatles, Hendrix, and Jefferson Airplane between 2 different record stores.

Then it was time to drive my car for the first time in a few days. Took her down Bourbon.

Then what I was really interested in. The Lower 9th Ward: the hardest hit section of New Orleans from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. It's mostly been cleared, but there are definitely some oddities, and it is not a neighborhood you'd want to fuck with the people in.

All the light poles have their tops missing. Very surreal.

                              Used to be a Maxima.
