  • Minor Gulf Coast Tour

Headed to New Orleans and Pensacola for a week next week Saturday. Going to finally stretch out the legs on the new 5.0. Looking for additional ideas on things to do, probably be swinging through Bayou La Batre and Mobile, maybe Biloxi(which I know is a shithole)and will only spend a day or two in Pensacola; most of the trip will be in New Orleans. Places to eat would be helpful, especially in the pass through towns. I haven't been to New Orleans since 1997, and have really been looking forward to it.

Stop in Gulfport instead of Biloxi. It's nicer, while still holding that shithole-gambling-town charm.

Stop in Scott, La., on the way back, and get some boudin at The Best Stop Market. They rock. Get some marinated rabbits for the grill, too.
ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

Astor Crown Plaza at the corner of Bourbon and Canal. Home of the New Orleans Bourbon Society and home to an amazing whiskey menu. Thank me later.

My meal recommendations are in the most recent New Orleans thread. You should make time for each of them. You won't be disappointed.

While in Pensacola, go here http://www.navalaviationmuseum.org/

If you have time, check out Pensacola Beach and eat here http://www.peglegpetes.com/. If you do, PLEASE grab me a pint glass. Someone knocked mine over in the sink and broke it.

If you eat crawfish, go to Tarranto's in Biloxi...very good.

When you get to Pensacola if you have time, ride 98 to Panama City Beach (about 80 miles of scenic emerald coast beauty). When you get to PCB go to Andersons seafood, best seafood in that area, if you go there in the early afternoon after the morning catch, you can pick out your own fish and they will cook it for you at dinner time.

If something happens, I have a couple of safe houses in Niceville Florida (otherside of the bay from Destin), my safe house in NO is no longer available but my good friend Brent's parents live in NO and can get you whatever help you need down there.

lmao, thanks Henry. Dave, I don't do crawfish. It just tastes like spicy dirt to me. LOVE seafood though.

I have a po boy spot that a friend took us to, can't remember the name so I texted them and will post it when they get back to me. It was the best I have ever had.

Andersons is the best that I have had in Florida. I had the Blackened Red Snapper Etouffee, it was so damn good I gave the cook a $20.00 tip, lmao. The beaches in PCB are the best, if you get a chance while there go to St. Andrews state park, you can get on a ferry/pontoon boat (less than 5 minutes) to seven mile island and chill on the state park private beach, bring your own refreshments, beach towels etc., there is nothing there but pristine untouched beach.
