Advertising and Fund Raising

There seems to be mixed opinions on how to handle the funding of the website. Vote on the following poll so we can get a feel for what everyone wants. TIA!

On a side note if you don't want any advertisers, then post up too so we can see what the majority likes. More than likely there is going to be advertising to some capacity, but lets address it early on.

I think banners are annoying, just give everyone their own sub forum, and have an advertisers page.

I really don't care either way. One banner isn't a big deal to me, I know SOMEthing has to fund this place. I just don't want to see fucking NINE of them.

I didn't mind when they were just along the top of the page. But when they were between the header and the rest of the page (fucking canuks) it was annoying. Anyways, don't want to be a smartass, but what does the board need "funding" for?

Start up costs, better version of vB, costs money to host, etc.

From my understanding, the banner would just be at the top, opposite the logo.

I have no problems supporting local vendors/businesses, its the spam advertising I cant stand. I didnt mind the banners on the other site since they were people from around here that we had as sponsors.

Do you honestly think there will be? I don't. Why would everyone start all over again for a third time when nothing is broken over here?

I didn't mind the original ad we had on dfw. The one that rotated every x seconds for our advertisers.

Im still sticking with the $20/yr thing should be enough to keep the board running. We need a couple hundred board members to contribute and there should be enough money.

The less banners and junk to me the better. Wasting my phone bandwidth
