  • At what temperature should you get concerned about (fever).

Worked on my truck last night until about 2 am trying to solve a coolant leak but the truck is too big to close the garage door so I was working in the low 40's but felt fine. Woke up this morning having uncontrollable chills and started puking up last nights El Fenix special. Temp was 100 when I woke up this morning and has now reached 103.2 and I feel terrible. No coughing, no sore throat, no sneezing...just burning the fuck up. I have no health insurance and I can't afford an emergency room visit. Should I just man up and wait it out or is 103 degree fever something to be concerned about?

104+ get in asap. Take some Motrin to get the fever down and drink a shit load of water if you can keep it down.

If you went in at that temp they'd probably hook an IV up to you. That's what they did to me when I had a temp that high.

Have you tried soaking in a very mild bath to see if that will bring it down

I would go to CareNow or one of those type places. They don't cost that much.

What temp fevers do you usually run? I run hot so I don't start worrying until the high 104's to the low 105's. If Tylenol and other fever reducers won't drop your temp, go to the ER. You can also try getting into cold baths and staying hydrated because that's typically what they do when I go in. Fluids and concentrated Tylenol.

Don't go to the ER, but I'd definitely go see my Doc at that point.

motrin/ tylenol, a cool bath or shower and stay hydrated. if it gets much worse get in to a care now (cheap) or an ER (they have to treat you, they can bill you later)

I rarely run fevers..hell Im usually slightly cool (97 or so). Last time I had a bad cold I was pretty steady at 99-100.

When I start running a high fever I usually take 1-2 hydrocodones and some tylenal and it breaks the fever pretty quick, Fevers suck. Hope you get better.
