I know a few of you are either in the Navy or were in and I am about to sign my contract next week. Any advice for what to know before boot camp that they do not tell you would be much appreciated! I will be in the 800 division during basic so it might be a tad different from regular boot camp. If any of you were in the 800 division that would be cool to know what that is like as well! I don't expect it to be hard at all but there is no reason not to be already thoroughly prepared!

My brother left for boot camp for the navy a few weeks ago. He's in Chicago. Just talked to him a couple days ago and he's sick as a dog like most get in boot camp.

The work part is what you expect. The challenging stuff is remembering all the little details of everything they quiz you on.

HAHA yea no doubt. Not too fond of what I will be wearing but that is a small thing to deal with and wont have to wear it often I hope. Who knows...

He spent 8 years in the Navy trying to get them to release him to be in SO programs. Dude is and was in, incredible shape. Just the fact that he joined in 2004 they wouldn't let him in. Long story.

The things that should be known that the recruiter does not tell you pretty much. Seems like the recruiters don't always give all the correct information from what I have seen.

I understand about the SO deal. I have met a few guys that are having the same issues.
